CHICAGO - If it's true that one needs to live the blues in order to sing about them, DePaul has done the former. And at the end of Saturday night's game against Georgetown, there was singing, but on a different note.
Grace notes, ghost notes, and final notes- they were all there for DePaul as the Blue Demons snapped their longest losing streak of the season at eight games with excellent efforts and results from freshman Romeo Weems and junior Jaylen Butz to avenge a 76-72 loss to the Hoyas earlier this season.
Weems scored a career-high 19 points, including 4-5 shooting from behind the arc. He had shot just 4-18 from 3-point range in his last eight games, but tonight he was both efficient and effusive, with his last 3-pointer, from the left wing with 4:26 to play, leaving he and teammate Charlie Moore (game-high 20 points) shouting, as DePaul had its biggest lead of the game at 64-57.
