BURNEY'S BYTES WITH SCOTT BURNSTEIN

BY: SCOTT BURNSTEIN www.statechampsnetwork.com

Burney wants to shout out some unsung heroes out of the backcourt this season on the boys hardwood. So, here goes:

• Nigel Colvin (River Rouge Sr.) — Maybe the most pleasant surprise of a season of anybody in Metro Detroit, absolutely killing it shooting the rock right now.

• Ron Jeffery (New Haven Sr.) — Maybe the most undervalued “Scottie Pippen type” in the whole state playing beside Mr. Basketball shoe-in Romeo Weems, versatile, consistent, clutch.

• Vinson Sigmon (Canton Sr.) — Game changer … ’Nuff said!!

• Julian Lewis & Devin Womack (AA Huron Soph.) — Can you say BEAST MODE in the making?

• Keyon Menifield (Flint Beecher Soph.) — Slippery and smooth anchoring the Bucs backcourt along with terrorizing junior Jalen Terry.

• Jordan Montgomery (U-D Jesuit Sr.) — The quintessential “glue guy,” connects a lot of dots on the court for the Cubbies.
