Burney’s “Dirty Dozen” of Top Boys Hoopsters In The MAC
Anthony Benard (Grosse Pointe South 6-foot-2 Soph. G) — The future is now, the Anthony Benard Era has become in GP in football and basketball and it will be a glorious ride for sure. Hide the women and children, things are about to get filthy with AB’s sick game!
Mak Manciel (Sterling Heights Stevenson 6-4 Sr. G/F) — The best player in Metro Detroit that you don’t know about yet, but soon will. Manciel missed last season due to a transfer from Birmingham Detroit Country Day and ready to take the Macomb County hoops scene by storm.
Josh Hines (Macomb Dakota 6-2 Sr. G) — The definition of crafty, consistent and coldblooded out of the backcourt.
Tyler Jamison (Port Huron North 6-4 Soph. G/F) — Ready for a GINORMOUS season, could challenge for top player in the league bragging rights by the end of the winter.
Nick Olmeda (St. Clair Shores Lake Shore 6-2 Sr. G) — Prototype gunner, blood-sweat-&-tears type with a game on the line, the league’s most dangerous scorer.
Andre Turner (Sterling Heights Stevenson 6-2 Sr G) — Velvety touch from deep and mid-range, fierce finisher at the rim.
Deonta Russell-Johnson (Roseville Jr. 6-8 F/C) — Will be the league’s MIP and top big guy this season.
Brent Wiles (New Haven 6-4 G/F) — Versatile and nails tough, beats opponents with his high basketball IQ.
Caron Williams (Macomb L’Anse Creuse 6-3 Soph. G/F) — Ready to blossom into a star on the wing, averaged 10 ppg, 5 rpg as a fab frosh.
Jason Hunter (Roseville Jr. 6-1 G) — Gutty combo guard just scratching the surface on his potential as a game changer.
Will Johnson (Grosse Pointe South Jr. 6-3 G) — The best football player in the state’s junior class is also a mighty fine hoopster.
